Volkswagen headlines September PAPA meeting

Our September meeting on the 16th was hosted by Volkswagen who brought five of their 2015 models out for test drives and gave an in-depth presentation over dinner. The company presented facts and figures about their new for 2015 Volkswagens and background on their latest sales performance.

After some housekeeping and general business, PAPA President Cathy Luebke turned the meeting over to Volkswagen West Coast Manager of Brand Public Relations, Darryll Harrison. He was on hand to present the feature presenters Manny Jesus and Megan Garbis.

papa091614-2In the 40 minute outline, product information and background information was given on the vehicles we had for a test drive earlier in the evening. These included the refreshed 2015 Volkswagen Jetta TDI “Clean Diesel” and TSI turbocharged gasoline models as well as the 2015 Golf GTI.

Manny Jesus, Volkswagen Regional Sales Operations Manager, discussed the brand’s sales growth both locally and nationally. Based in the Valley, he gave color to the dynamics of how certain models sell here at home versus other regions in the U.S.

Megan Garbis who is part of the Volkswagen Academy is primarily responsible for training and educating dealer sales and service personnel on the Volkswagen models and brand culture.

Her presentation discussed all of the models previously mentioned as well as the coming 2015 Golf Sportwagen which arrives early next year and refreshed 2015 Touareg which launches late this fall.
